The bioethanol fire burns on bioethanol, a fuel made from vegetable raw materials. Burning bioethanol releases little CO2, which makes the bioethanol fire a sustainable alternative to the gas or wood fire.

You switch on the bioethanol fire with a remote control or app after which a small amount of bioethanol fumes are released. When stoking a bioethanol fire and burning bioethanol, no harmful substances such as smoke and soot are released. The fire therefore does not need to be connected to a flue. While stoking the fire, you will need to ventilate the room to provide fresh air.

1. The fuel does not come into contact with the fire

When you turn on the bioethanol fire with the remote control, the fire releases a small, controlled amount of bioethanol which is converted into bioethanol vapours. Only the vapours of the fuel come into contact with an ignition which ensures that you get to see a beautiful flame. Because only the bio-ethanol vapour comes into contact with the fire, there is no risk of unsafe situations. Fill the fuel tank safely

In order for the bio-ethanol fire to burn, it needs fuel and you are responsible for refilling the reservoir – unlike a gas fire. Refilling the reservoir of a bioethanol fire is very easy, but can be dangerous if you do this when the fire is on or has just burned. Therefore, always make sure that you fill the reservoir when the fire has cooled down completely, for example before you light it.

The system is secured in such a way that nothing can go wrong. You cannot refill if the fire has not yet cooled down sufficiently. The advanced system makes it virtually impossible to tamper, but if something is not right, the sensors will always indicate this. Thanks to this protection, you can never ignite the fire if things are not right.

Be careful around the fireplace when it is burning

The fire does not get really hot, but the glass of the fire will heat up due to the fire. Therefore, be careful near the fire when it is on or has just burned. Make sure you do not touch the glass of the fire when it is hot and keep (small) children away from a hot fire.

Ventilate the room during firing

No harmful substances are released when burning a bio-ethanol fire, but we will still advise you to ventilate the room where the fire is located during or just after firing, for example by opening a window. In this way there is always enough oxygen in the room for the optimum heating conditions.
